Halloween is imminent, meaning it’s that time of the year to catch a scary flick at the theater before it’s too late, and Buffalo’s “finest movie theatre” has got you covered.
This past Saturday, North Park Theatre in Buffalo began its two-week run of one of the most anticipated films of the year, Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein.”
The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Nov. 7, though across the globe, it has received a limited theatrical release. North Park Theatre’s screenings of the latest classic monster remake come as an exclusive to Western New York, having the privilege of being the only theater in the area to play it on the big screen.
The synopsis reads, “Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.”
The film stars industry giants such as Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Jacob Elordi as the newest adaptation of Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s iconic creation. In an Instagram post, North Park Theatre described it as a “beautifully creepy film,” making it the perfect choice for a Halloween trip to the movies.
Don’t miss a special opportunity to get in the seasonal spirit and possibly find your next favorite movie, just minutes away from campus. The theater holds screenings at 1:10 pm, 4:10 pm, and 7:30 pm every day through Nov. 6. You can find tickets online at northparktheatre.org under the showtimes tab.
