This upcoming Saturday on 04/20, we have the always awesome WBNY’s Battle of the Bands that will get you blazing at the Mohawk Place at 7:30p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door, or if you are a Buffalo State student, show your Bengal ID to get in for free. Now here are the 5 bands that are ready to smoke out the competition.

1. Spud

Spud Band live (@photos4thepeople)

Spud is an up and coming indie style pop punk band with some really great vocal work. They also have a lively social media presence if this instagram post is anything to go by. Watch out, they are ready to slash their way around the colosseum.

2. Red Button Dilemma

Red Button Dilemma Band live (@ktcakes84)

Red Button Dilemma are taking a more experimental approach fusing new wave, alternative, and shoegaze while creating tightly-written songs. The guitar work also has some hints of the Fred-era Taking Back Sunday, especially with their latest release. They might have what it takes to noodle themselves to the top seat.

3. Cobraz

Cobraz Band (Chris Rossi)

Cobraz are kicking it up with their blend of punk, metal, and grunge with some elements of horror thrown in as well. They released their first album in September with a bunch of raw-banging tunes. The other bands might be throwing snake eyes at the table after Cobra is done with them.

4. Hearts For Sale

Hearts For Sale Band at WBNY (Armando Giangreco-Marrota)

Hearts For Sale have an alternative sound along with tight musicianship. They’re about to be releasing a new single this Friday so definitely give that a shot when it is out. If the news reports an incident about four other bands breaking up after a certain show, check your local organ market to find out where they went.

5. Uncanny Valley

Uncanny Valley Band at WBNY (91.3 FM WBNY)

Uncanny Valley are an up and coming funky indie alternative band bringing in all the feels to vibe with. They released their first single a few weeks ago which definitely shows a potential for something even greater. They could even just dance their way into the number one spot.

The temperatures may be heating up, but each of these acts at WBNY’s Battle of the Bands 2024 are going to be firing up on all cylinders!
