SUNY Erie City Campus, located in downtown Buffalo, is currently in active lockdown. There have been no updates officially announced as to why the lockdown was put into place, but an email was sent out to students and faculty. The email came from ECC Alert Systems, saying “Immediate lockdown is in effect at city campus POST building. Secure rooms and lockdown”.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz also posted a photo of the map of the area for ECC City Campus with the statement, “Urgent Notice: Due to an ongoing situation in the area of SUNY Erie City Campus, all are asked to avoid the area within the perimeter outlined below.” The area is between North Division Street and Swan Street and Washington Street and Elm Street.
