Brockport extends undefeated streak

The Buffalo State women’s lacrosse team traveled to Brockport on Tuesday afternoon for a matchup against the undefeated Brockport Golden Eagles.

Despite a second half comeback, the Bengals were unable to pull all the way back, ultimately falling 15-7.

Brockport jumped out to a 6-1 lead at halftime and added three more goals at the other side of the break.

The Bengals finally responded with a 6-1 run that cut the deficit to 10-7 with 11:46 to play.

The Golden Eagles then scored four goals in a span of 2:36 to put the game away for good.

Sophomore midfielder Christina Krowel led Buffalo State with three goals, giving her 37 on the season. Junior midfielder Cassie Saint-Vill added two goals for her sixth and seventh points of the season.

The Bengals leading scorer – sophomore attacker Alanna Herne – was held to just one goal and two assists. Goaltenders Elyse Stark and Megan Doyle both made appearances for Buffalo State. Stark allowed five goals on seven shots while Doyle made 11 saves on 21 shots.

Buffalo State’s record fell to 4-8 (1-3 SUNYAC). The Bengals will look to get back on track in a Saturday SUNYAC matchup at Oneonta at noon.
