However, strong goaltending from sophomore goalkeeper Elyse Stark and capitalization on opportunities was key in the victory.
Buffalo State was able to start off quickly, taking a commanding 7-3 lead. The Gators made a late surge, scoring the final four goals of the game, but Buffalo State was able to hold them off.
Allegheny had the advantage in draws, shots and ground balls, but Buffalo State was able to take advantage of their chances and limited turnovers.
Seven different players showed up on the box score for Buffalo State. Getting everyone involved on the offense was crucial in the victory.
Next up for Buffalo State is a battle with non-conference opponent RIT (1-2). The 4 p.m. matchup will be Buffalo State’s home opener at Coyer Field.
