Buffalo State primed to celebrate its 144th birthday

SUNY Buffalo State is turning 144 and everyone is invited to celebrate.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, there will be a fun-filled, action-packed extravaganza outside of Butler Library. This will occur during Bengal Pause.

The event, hosted by the United Students Government, Student Life, Alumni Affairs and SPC, will feature giant yard games, cupcakes, live music, and more. USG President Derek Jordan will be the emcee at the event, giving students an opportunity to meet and interact with their newly elected president.

When asked why there was such an emphasis being placed on Buffalo State turning 144, Pamela Voyer, stewardship and special projects officer for Buffalo State, responded:

“By acknowledging and embracing Buffalo State’s history in a fun way, we hope to bring the student body and alumni closer – not only to each other but also to the history of Buffalo State.”

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend Bengal Pause on Tuesday, make sure to stop by Buffalo State’s birthday party. You can sign a giant card, take a selfie with Benji the Bengal, hang out with your friends or just enjoy the celebration.

Whatever your choice, this celebration is something you don’t want to miss.
