Former Buffalo State goalie Kevin Carr is climbing the ladder in minor league hockey. Carr has now been called up to the Colorado Eagles, a member of the East Coast Hockey League, which is Carr’s third team in a month. He made the announcement via Twitter on April 5.

Carr signed a week-to-week professional contract with the Peoria Rivermen, the Southern Professional Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks on March 5. Carr appeared in six games with the Rivermen, going 2-1-1 and posting a 1.90 goals against average before getting promoted to the Eagles.

Carr made 45 saves in a season-ending loss to Geneseo in the SUNYAC semifinals that ended his four-year playing career at Buffalo State. He owns ten school records, including saves (3,225), shutouts (9), save percentage (.921), and wins (45). As a senior, Carr became just the second Buffalo State player to be named an All-American, taking home third team honors.

Carr was one of nine seniors that made history as juniors, hosting a playoff game for the first time in program history and advancing to the SUNYAC semifinals for the first time.

A native of Unionville, Ontario, Carr has been working towards a health and wellness degree by finishing up his courses online.
