As Halloween creeps around the corner, several departments and clubs have announced their unique events to celebrate. No matter your taste or style, there is something for all students taking place this week to set the eerie mood.
Costume Karaoke:
Black Active Minds (BAM) welcomes everyone to a night of Halloween costume karaoke! Make your way to Bulger 215 on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m., and prepare to break out your favorite songs over the mic. Free treats are included.
Boo-longing and Wellness Bingo:
If singing is not your forte, head to the Science & Math Complex for some bingo. On Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., Residence Life is holding health and wellness bingo games with activities, resources, free food, and prizes.
Commuter Trunk-Or-Treat:
For any off-campus folks interested in a head start on collecting candy, Fraternity and Sorority Life has you covered. They will be set up in parking lot R-12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, so look for the orange tent. You’ll get free candy and some wellness tips provided by the Weigel Health Center.
Dormer’s Trunk-Or-Treat:
If you live on campus, don’t feel excluded. There is a trunk-or-treat for you as well! Residence Life pulls through again on the 6th Floor Lounge, Oct. 30, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sheets will be handed out alongside pieces of candy and cookies to celebrate the October birthday.
Visual Arts Board Halloween Party:
Looking for something festive during Bengal Pause? You have two options, this one being the Visual Arts Board’s annual Halloween party. Wander over to Upton Hall 501 on the 30th and indulge in the free games, food, music, and costume contest– with prizes!
Fashion Club Costume Party:
Your other choice is to attend the Halloween costume party from the Buffalo State Fashion Club over at Tech 358. There will be free pizza, candy, and, most importantly, a costume contest. You can enter four separate categories: best costume, best costume duo, funniest costume, and most creative costume. Each winner will be awarded a prize at the end.
Halloween Eve Mental Health Trick or Treat:
Join the Social Work department on Oct. 30, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., for their 2nd annual Halloween Eve Mental Health Trick or Treat & Shine the Light on Mental Health Walk. Attendees will start with a walk from Rockwell Hall to Claudell Hall’s lobby, trick-or-treating at a variety of agency tables. During this, you can learn about the local community’s mental health services, collect self-care tips, learn ways to cope with struggles, and take candy. The Social Work Department promises popcorn, apple cider, and glow-in-the-dark bracelets for the walk.
Boo Bash:
For any students in the mood to party a bit early, the USG calls everybody to a Halloween bash on Oct. 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In the Social Hall, there will be mini golf, pumpkin painting, a mocktail bar, and so much more! Throw on your costumes and come down to kick off All-Hallows Eve.
