It is necessary to note that having the ability to view the different cases was a unique experience.
In particular, viewing the case with larger letters allowed me to examine the variations of type cases. Not to mention, it was notable to learn that the modern cases are not set up with lower cases and upper cases.
Broadly speaking, the typesetting experience was incredible. Although I possessed concerns relative to making mistakes and struggling to grasp the process to typeset, after initiating the typesetting process, it became increasingly apparent that typesetting was a manageable task.
Certainly, it was an enthralling opportunity to engage in the typesetting process. The typesetting process most definitely demands an incredible degree of patience as well as calmness.
Typesetting requires a particularly methodical process, given the detail-oriented nature of the task. One misstep, including moving the composing stick slightly, could alter the entirety of the phrase. Such a situation required needing to rectify the altered sections of the phrase.
Remedying the alteration was often accomplished with ease; this can be attributed to the spaces. The spaces, of course, were intended to separate the words. Though quite time-consuming, and truly more intensive than handwriting or typing, it was exciting to produce a typeset phrase.
On a final note, I eventually began to memorize the location of the letters. This, of course, resulted in the realization that practice certainly leads to increased accuracy and efficiency with this process. Still, the consumption of time and energy likely resulted in limitations for book production.
