Does the Library close too early on Saturdays?

The academic commons in E.H. Butler Library at Buffalo State, where students can sit and study.

Weekends can be tough: deciding whether to go out with your friends or to complete assignments. Sometimes, we need a quiet, private place to study. A roommate can be loud and noisy; perhaps the dorm room isn’t the best place to study. Students may prefer to work or study late at night.

The E.H. Butler Library at Buffalo State University closes at 5 pm on Saturdays. This can be inconvenient for students because some students need the small private study rooms in the library to study or work on assignments.

The study quad has only one private study room. Unfortunately, the main library closes 30 minutes before 5 pm. As such, students are told to leave the library and go to the study quad.

The library should be open until 10 pm on weekends, especially on Saturday. This would be much more convenient for students.
