Five shows that will get you March-ing into your local watering holes

As Spring is coming closer every day, it’s time to head out into the current and embrace some local intimate energy and vibes. Kick off the month of March with these five performances!

1. Hywater in-store performance at Hi-Fi Hits Records

Hywater is a classic rock-inspired group whose lead singer,Thomas Tedesco, is a Buffalo State alumnus as well as a former writer here at The Record. Hywater recently performed an acoustic set on WBNY’s Local Show, and if you want to get a chance to hear that again, they are going to be at Hi-Fi Hits Records for another acoustic set on Mar. 8 at 7pm. Not only do you get a free copy of their album, This Way Up,  with your $10 cover – but you also get a chance to meet the band after the show!

2. asalone, Pretty Good State University, JOEYB, & Clayton Duffy at Milkies Elmwood Lounge

asalone and company are going to be putting on some infectious tunes that will compel you to start moving. This show features bands and artists that have appeared on 91.3 FM WBNY’s Local Show: Pretty Good State University, Clayton Duffy, and Buffalo State student JOEYB. Tickets are $8 at the door, so groove it up at Milkies on Mar. 8 at 8:30 pm.

3. Dogs Run Free, Previous Love, & Elemantra at Electric Avenue

The band Dogs Run Free of Cleveland, Ohio are making a stop here in Buffalo on their March tour run. With some solid local support from Previous Love and Elemantra, here lies a super fun and spacy indie and shoegaze show for a vibey Saturday night. Tickets are $10 at the door so head on over to Electric Avenue on Mar. 9 at 8pm.

4. Cheap Peach, Heart for Sale, Greg Hill, & Star Theory at Mohawk Place

Cheap Peach along with a company of hard-hitting catchy support are not going to leave anyone standing still. Get amped up for some punk and vibrant alternative energy! You can get presale tickets for $10 by DMing the band on Instagram, or for $12 at the door. Go from March-ing to jumping at Mohawk Place on Mar. 9 at 8pm.

5. Sliver, Dirty Dishes, & akloh at Mr. Goodbar

Now this show will start off with some chill vibes, but will turn into some hard-hitting alternative bangers. That is to be expected – with the name Sliver being a reference to an underrated Nirvana song. Dirty Dishes and akloh will be warming us up beforehand. You can get presale tickets for $5 by DMing the band on Instagram, or for $7 at the door at Mr. Goodbar on Mar. 9 at 9pm.
