The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins hit the field on Sunday with the top of the AFC East on the line.
The Bills are coming off of an impressive 37-3 win against the Commanders in week three, putting up great defensive numbers, including five turnovers and nine sacks in the victory.
This is all one week after the Bills defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 38-10 with an outstanding performance from Josh Allen and the defense.
The Bills want to keep their momentum in a divisional showdown with the Miami Dolphins.
So far this season, the Bills are 0-1 in their divisional games, losing to the Jets 22-16 in overtime in week one.
As for the Dolphins, they come into this game undefeated after wins against the Chargers, Patriots, and Broncos, in which the ladder gave up 70 points to the Dolphins just last week.
Usually, this would be a good thing for the Dolphins, but history says otherwise. Before this week, there had only been two teams to score 70 points in an NFL game, and both teams lost their following game.
This means that history is not on the Dolphins’ side in this one. However, this is not the only exciting stat correlating to these two teams.
The Bills have played, and beat the teams that the Broncos played the week prior, being the Raiders and then Commanders, and now play the Dolphins, who just played Denver last week, to continue this trend.
However, something that does go in the Dolphins’ favor is their divisional record. The Dolphins are 1-0 in divisional games this season, beating the Patriots 24-17 on Sunday Night Football.
Injuries
The Buffalo Bills will play without starting Strong Safety Jordan Poyer for Sunday’s game with a knee injury.
In his place will be young safety Damar Hamlin, who will make his season debut after a long recovery from last year’s gruesome ending.
Another critical injury is Dolphins Defensive End Jaelen Phillips, who will be out with an oblique injury.
Other players, such as Terron Armstead (Back/ankle), Connor Williams (Groin), and Deshon Elliot (Ankle/Groin), are all listed as game-time decisions on whether they’ll play or not.
Weather
The weather doesn’t seem significant in this game, as the forecast indicates a sunny, 78-degree Sunday afternoon in Orchard Park. The wind doesn’t look much of a factor, as the projected wind is only three to eight miles per hour.
