Our new Miss Buffalo has officially been crowned.

Twenty-four-year-old Chelsea Lovell, originally from Queens, is a University of Miami graduate who majored in broadcast journalism.

Before she moved to Buffalo, she worked at WIVB- TV Channel 4’s sister station in Elmira, NY. Lovell currently works at Channel 4 and says Buffalo is her home away from home.

Surprisingly, Lovell says she didn’t start competing in pageants until her sophomore year of college. She credits a college dance teammate for inspiring her to step out of her comfort zone and begin pageantry.

Lovell’s social impact initiative is to aid women and families from domestic violence by partnering with organizations that teach women the signs and severity of spousal abuse.

Within the next five years, Lovell aspires to become a full-time news anchor. She is excited to serve Buffalo as an efficient leader and positive role model for young girls.
