The Sabres continue the 4 game homestand when the Vancouver Canucks come to Buffalo for tonight’s game.

The 2-0 Sabres are coming off a shootout win against the Arizona Coyotes. The Sabres controlled the game a lot but they should have definitely put it away well before the shootout began.

The Sabres are 2-0 but they’ve had two easy games. A game against the Canadiens, who are down a starting goaltender and their number 1 defenseman, and the Arizona Coyotes who are 0-2-1 and have allowed 17 goals already and have only scored 7. So, it is fair to say the Sabres have had a fairly easy schedule.

The lineups and pairs for the Sabres are expected to be the same as the win against Arizona

Skinner-Cozens-Hinostroza
Asplund-Thompson-Olofsson
Girgensons-Eakin-Okposo
Caggiula-Ruostalainen-Bjork

Dahlin-Butcher
Hagg-Pysyk
Bryson-Miller

Anderson

The only change is that Craig Anderson will get the start for the Sabres tonight.

The Canucks are 1-1-1 in their first three games but have been competitive in each keeping the games close. The Canucks will be desperate for a win after a 3-1 loss to Detroit, a close 3-2 loss to Edmonton, and a shootout loss to Philadelphia.

Canucks lines are expected to look like.

Pearson-Horvat-Garland
Hoglander-Petterson-Boeser(Gametime Decision)
Dowling-Miller-Podkolzin
Lammikko-Dickinson-Highmore

Ekman-Larsson-Myers
Hughes-Poolman
Rathbone-Burroughs

Demko

I think this will be a close game, but the Sabres will fall just short, losing to their first team of the season and go to 2-1.
