Let the wind take you to “Breezy Burrito Bar”

The “Special Corner”

If you find the wind takes you to Elmwood, consider Breezy’s Burrito Bar. It’s not just a burrito bar, it’s your therapy!

I wandered into Breezy Burrito Bar on a Saturday spring evening. It was 5 p.m., the sun was shining beautifully into the restaurant and added to the ambiance of the experience.

As I walked in, I was greeted by the smell of fresh flowers and smiling faces. I was asked to wait a few moments as they found a table for me to sit. As I waited, to the left of me was this eccentric maroon leather couch with tribal accent pillows placed perfectly next to the window with the sun shining through.

My table was ready within a few seconds. I came at the right time as they had plenty of reservations on that Saturday night.

I was brought to the table with lightwood bench seating decorated with colorful accent pillows for comfort and relaxation. I would have loved a different table, as this one had not much view of the outside and I love to look out the window. Although it was busy, and I was lucky to get a table as it is. In front of me, laid a tinted candle put next to the fresh flowers I smelled when I walked in, and the beautiful menu.

The ambiance of the restaurant will remind you of a retro, boho vibe. The entire restaurant is lit up by neon lights in the shape of roses and the eye symbol. Fun fact, this symbol means, good and protection.

There was an eye in every corner so ideally there was good everywhere. The special corner, as I called it, was a spot in the restaurant that stood out from the rest.

It was a small corner in the back of the restaurant with a black and white accent wall. A neon pink eye light lights up the corner. I’d call it the best spot in the house.

Disco Fries

My server then took my order. The menu was made to please the eye as the options all looked yummy.

The starter I chose was the disco fries loaded with the works. Ding! The cook tapped the bell, and my order was in the window. Then for the meal I choose to try both the Burrito bowl and Burrito wrap.

The serving size is enough to last for days of leftovers even if you’re starving. It’s loaded past the brim filled with my choice of pulled pork, guacamole, sour cream.

And the added options rice, beans, shredded cheese, chopped romaine, and Pico de Gallo, served with a side salsa and tortilla chips. The burrito was packed as much as it could with chicken and the same toppings as the burrito bowl.

One bite and I was stuffed. But it was an awesome midnight snack the next day. The server was attentive, friendly and a good worker even as I saw her running around the whole night.

I then was handed my bill. The total with a starter and 2 entrees cost $45. It’s not expensive and it’s worth what you pay.

Before I left I used the ladies room. It is a unisex bathroom for one person at a time. You walk in and notice a pretty purple mural on the wall tying together the other walls around you. The bathroom is very clean but exceedingly small. Not necessarily handicap accessible. Although it was fine, and I made my way out.

I walked back to the table to grab my food and was heading out while greeted by the employees. As I walked out, I noticed their outside patio was filled with no seats left! It was also heated with a nice firepit adding to the “Summer Chill” vibe it gives.

The ambiance was very relaxing with an awesome playlist, a bartender mixing drinks in the background, neon lights, blue and purple walls and smiling faces everywhere. Walked in there hungry, leaving there not only satisfied, but relaxed.
