The archives of Record past come to web

Patrick Koster, News Editor

You can already get the most recent issues of The Record on newsstands or online at buffstaterecord.com.

But now, you can read 93 years-worth of the award-winning student newspaper.

Over 100 volumes and 29,000 pages of past Record content is available online at digitalcommons.buffalostate.edu/the_record/. The Archives and Special Collections Department, part of the E.H. Butler Library, has digitized an archival microfilm collection of the newspaper, spanning from 1913 to 2006.

The downloadable files contain high resolution scans of the paper that are fully text searchable, available on and off-campus worldwide. Individual newspaper editions are organized by volume for searching purposes. Users can hit “Control” and “F” to begin keyword searching through Record history.
