Staff Reports

A female SUNY Buffalo State student was robbed Tuesday night while walking between Upton Hall and the Science & Mathematics Complex, according to Buffalo State University Police.

The victim, who was not harmed, was approached by two suspects and robbed of her jacket. The jacket was later recovered.

One of the suspects was armed with a knife during the incident.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect No. 1 – A black male, approximately 5’9″ tall, wearing dark hoodie, sweatpants, armed with a knife.

Suspect No. 2 – A black male, wearing dark hoodie, sweatpants, and a knit cap.

In an email to students, UPD said that it has increased patrols on campus.

The armed robbery marks the fourth serious crime on campus since classes began.

The semester began with a sexual assault reported in Porter Hall. Then a stabbing occurred outside the Student Apartment Complex. Followed by a student falling victim to an armed robbery two weeks ago in the stairwell of Tower 3 in which two males are suspected of the robbery, one armed with a semi-automatic pistol and the other carrying a knife.

Students took to Twitter Tuesday night expressing their concerns.

“Pretty sure @buffalostate needs to worry a little less about parking tickets and more about protecting their students. #priorities,” Nathan James (@nateejames) tweeted.

Nic Bacon (@baconbitz32) tweeted: “Hey @buffalostate, maybe don’t accept everyone and their mothers then maybe all these robberies, rapes and stabbings will stop. #ridiculous.”
