Dan Serignese replaced Buffalo State starting quarterback Kyle Hoppy in the second quarter and led the Bengals from a 10-point deficit to a road win over No. 13 Ithaca, 38-27, on Saturday. Buffalo State used 31 unanswered points and six turnovers defensively to improve to 5-1 and take over first place in the Empire 8. The win is Buffalo State’s first over a ranked opponent since upsetting No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater, 7-6, in 2012.
