Portrait Magazine 2025 is a literary magazine primarily run by students here at Buffalo State. It’s goal is to capture the amazing work of our students and celebrate their creativity.

Portrait Magazine is seeking passionate authors and artists of Buffalo State. A variety of pieces will be accepted including prose (up to one-thousand words in fiction or nonfiction), poetry, digital art, photos of traditional art, and photography. For reference and enjoyment, past editions of Portrait Magazine can be found on the Buffalo State website at suny.buffalostate.edu.

The team behind Portrait Magazine will host a workshop March 4th during Bengal pause in Ketchum Hall 302. Information on publication and copyright will be provided as well as answers to any further questions involving submissions.

This is an opportunity to have your hard work captured both digitally and on print, and to be admired by your community. Along with publication of your piece, a release party will be held May 6th where authors included will be invited to read their work. More details will be shared with authors and artists included as the date approaches.

All work should be submitted to [email protected] by March 21st, allowing for Portrait Magazine 2025 to be published this upcoming May. Submissions are accepted in formats of .doc, .txt, .pdf, .jpeg, and .png.
