Houston lost to the Jets on Thursday Night Football 21-13. C.J. Stroud had 191 yards passing.
Joe Mixon ran 24 times for 106 yards and one touchdown. Tank Dell caught six passes for 126 yards.
Houston has been decimated with injuries. Houston hosts the Lions on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. in NRG Stadium.

The Vikings beat the Colts on Sunday Night Football 21-13. Sam Darnold was 28-34 for 290 yards.
Darnold threw three touchdowns and two interceptions. Justin Jefferson caught seven passes for 137 yards and had no touchdowns.
Minnesota travels south to take on the Jaguars at 1:00 PM Sunday at EverBank Stadium.

The Steelers had a bye this past week. Pittsburgh takes to the road after their week of rest to take on a very tough Washington Commanders team Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest Stadium.
6. Green Bay 6-3 Previous Rank: 4
The Pack lost a tough game to Detroit 24-14 at home in terrible weather conditions.
The Packers couldn’t seem to get anything going and saw first hand that the Detroit Lions may be the best team in football right now.
Green Bay has a bye this week and looks to get some players healthy especially Jordan Love.

The Ravens rolled over the Broncos 41-10. The Ravens had a chip on their shoulder from the loss to Cleveland the previous week.
Well, they let it all hang out in Denver. Lamar Jackson was 16-19 for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Derrick Henry ran the ball 23 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Henry became only the 10th person to score 100 rushing touchdowns.
Baltimore hosts the Bengals on Thursday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium and streaming on Amazon Prime.
4. Buffalo Bills 7-2 Previous Rank: 5
The Bills narrowly won over the Dolphins 30-27 on a 61-yard FG from Tyler Bass with ten seconds left in the game.
Bass probably saved his job as he has been in the doghouse especially after missing an extra point earlier in the game.
Josh Allen, who continues to have a most valuable player (MVP) caliber season, was 25-39 for 235 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie RB Ray Davis caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown as well.
Buffalo travels to Indianapolis to take on the Colts Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium
3. Washington 7-2 Previous Rank: 3
The Commanders squeaked by the NY Giants 27-22. Jayden Daniels was 15-22 for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Dante Fowler had three tackles, three assists and two sacks.
Washington is at home against a well-rested Pittsburgh Steelers team who had a bye last week. The game is Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest Stadium.
2. Detroit 7-1 Previous Rank: 2
Detroit roughed up the Packers 24-14 in a game played in a torrential downpour. Kerby Joseph had a pick-six off of Jordan Love for 27 yards to put the Lions up 17-3 at the half and they never looked back.
The Lions now sit atop the NFC North all by themselves. Detroit travels to Houston to take on the Texans on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. at NRG Stadium.
1. Kansas City 8-0 Previous Rank: 1
The Chiefs defeated Tampa Bay 30-24 on Monday Night Football in overtime.
Patrick Mahomes was 34-44 for 291 yards and three Touchdowns. Kareem Hunt rushed for 106 yards on 27 carries and had one touchdown.
Baker Mayfield threw two touchdowns in a losing effort. Mayfield leads the league with 23 touchdown passes.
The Chiefs now host division rival Denver on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
