SUNY Buffalo State’s International Student Organization is hosting its annual International Cultural Fiesta on April 23 from 7 to 10:30 pm in the Student Union Social Hall.

Throughout the event, a host will take guests through an exciting journey while traveling the world in one night. The night will feature several cultural performances by African drummers, belly dancers, salsa dancers, Indian bhangra dancers and Middle Eastern dancers, along with henna tattoos. Following the performances, guests will get to taste a plethora of cultural foods, including Indian, Ethiopian, Chinese and French cuisines.

President of the International Student Organization, Akshay Sharma, stated that the event seeks to “bridge the gap between international and domestic cultures through a fun night of entertainment.”

The International Student Organization was founded by Buffalo State’s director of special international programs, Dr. Jean-François Gounard, to spread internationalism, culturism and awareness through entertainment. The organization holds four events throughout the year, which includes its largest event, the International Cultural Fiesta.

Tickets for the event are $3 for students and $5 for guests. Students can purchase their tickets online here. Guest tickets will be available at the box office in the Union. Doors open at 7 pm.
