Buffalo Police responded to a shooting near the SUNY Buffalo State campus late Tuesday afternoon, according to the school’s official Twitter.

The shooting took place on the corner of Dart and Letchworth Street, right on the edge of lot G-20 which is located on Grant Street across from campus. The suspect fled the scene.

Early information suggests the incident may have been targeted and there appears to be no threat or connection to Buffalo State.

UPD and Buffalo Police remain at the scene and are asking people to avoid the area.

UPD declined to make a comment on the matter until Wednesday.
