Students protest slut shaming and rape culture in campus ‘SlutWalk’
Students reclaim the word “slut” in a campus march.

SUNY Buffalo State students were joined by the public in a campus-wide march on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to promote gender equality and denounce slut shaming, victim blaming and sexual violence. Students Myah Meyerhoefer and Aleysha Marino organized the event. Aside from the march, there were food trucks, vendors and henna tattoos. Planned Parenthood, Crisis Services and Evergreen Health were at the event.
