This Friday, eleven Regal Cinemas will reopen, along with all movie theaters in New York State.
For Erie Country, locations reopening will be Regal Walden Galleria, and Regal Quaker Crossing.
This comes after the announcement Cineworld would be closing its theaters across the country due to overwhelming losses caused by the pandemic and the shut down of the film industry.
“We are grateful to finally have initial guidelines from the state”, said Mooky Greidinger, CEO of Cineworld, “our New York theaters and staff are thoroughly prepared for a safe and sustainable reopening”.
Gov. Cuomo’s announced Saturday that movie theaters across the state could reopen. Cuomo’s reopening plan mandates 25% capacity, 50 people per screen.
Masks are to be worn at the theaters, except when eating or drinking.
Assigned seats are mandatory, and social distancing between groups will be enforced.
