The All-SUNYAC rosters were announced on Tuesday, and Buffalo State’s softball team had four players receive honors. Junior infielder Stephanie Novo and junior pitcher Alexis Haley were named to All-SUNYAC first team, seniors Joanna Bardak and Taylor Swiatek earned All-SUNYAC second team honors.

Novo finished the season with a .376 average, good for second on the team. She not only hit for average, but also for power, with eight home runs on the season, which led the SUNYAC. She also led the SUNYAC with 37 RBIs.

Haley impressed in her first season with the Bengals, chipping in both at the plate and in the pitching circle. She went 8-7 with a 3.96 ERA and had a .313 average at the plate along with 14 RBIs.

The All-SUNYAC honors were the first for Bardak. She led the Bengals with a .416 average, had 19 extra-base hits, and led the team in doubles and triples. She was tied with Novo for the team lead in stolen bases with 10.

Swiatek, who was named team MVP by her fellow players and coaches, also received her first All-SUNYAC honors. She coupled strong defense at the hot corner with a consistent bat. Swiatek had a .355 average with 24 runs scored, which was good for third on the team behind only Novo and Bardak. She also had a 23-game hitting streak during the season.
